Bambuko

A bridge made entirely of Bamboo spans the Tyne for one night only. It was up to lauch the start of the summer tyne festival - of course it rained.

waiting for summer

Ready to face the lashing rain and gale force winds of another lovely summers day.

Summer Tyne

Nothing like an outdoor concert at the height of English Summer.
Predictably the somme-like weather conditions turned it into a battle of endurance. When they were giving out free ponchos on the way in we started to worry and looked like soldiers from nam by the end of the night.

Bib model

Here's amber with her little dog and a new bib.
She got to be a model again for part of our marketing campaign at work.
Despite the bib's logo she was a nighmare all day!

Frozen in time

Ever think your house needs a lick of paint?
This is a genuine waiting room I was in the other day for work. For a minute I thought I'd opened a wormhole to 1967 - I felt like I was in an episode of Thunderbirds.

Euros

Pinar celebrates a luck last minute goal for the Turks.
At least she has someone to cheer for!

Sponsor us!

Amber will be doing her bit for charity - well I'll be more likely carrying her round unless by some miracle she gets up the the next few weeks.

It's for a really, really good cause that has had an impact on some friends of ours so please sponsor us if you can.

When something like this happens to people you know it really brings it home. The charity is called Action Duchenne, anything gratefully received - you can sign up and find out a bit more about it on the web here:

The boat

As I was crossing Southwark bridge this boat was going under - coincidence I think not.

Check the name

The City

Back in London for work and it was as crowded as ever. This time it was even hotter than usual but as it was quite a button-downed conference we all had to sweat it out in our suits like of of those japanese game shows Clive James likes so much.
Still we got a free tour of shakespears globe which was a good way of cooling off as it's open air.

feet up as usual

While I was breaking my back with work I came out to the garden and discovered this.
Cigar and beer as usual.

The Spar - tans

Long time readers will know that there is only one true mult-national retailer found everywhere from Asia to Africa and Tyneside to New Zealand. It seems that no International destination is complete without a Spar and true to form we saw one on the Cote D'Azur as well. So no matter where you are in the world you can always find 8 Ace and a soggy pasty.

a la carte

She might be a notoriously fussy eater at home but AC is far less snooty about French food. She was wolfing down cheese, bagets, crepes and all kinds of continental stuff. Had to keep her off the wine though.

Future's so bright..

The south of France was pretty sweet. Sunny and nice food - even Amber had on her own shades! A Holiday with a baby is a contradiction in terms. Need another week off just to recover.

At the beach

Amber seemed to enjoy her first time overseas in Nice - which was nice!
